About Us
We are a collective group of private swim instructors whose mission is to foster a lifetime love of the water. Our instructors come with a wealth of experience teaching in various settings and training with Ms. Abby on unique skills that help any swimmer gain confidence in the water.
All of our instructors are lifeguard certified, insured, experienced swim instructors and many of them hold degrees in education or pursuing them.
We prioritize water safety, self rescue skills and swim competency before stroke work.
We choose coaching over curriculum and learning from fellow instructors to tailor our techniques to each swimmer.
ms. abby
Founder and Lead Instrutor
Ms. Abby is a PHTA certified pool operator. She has taught a variety of aquatic programs for the Red Cross for 30 years, including water safety, swimming, self-rescue, and lifeguarding. Her background in early childhood development and experience as a former paramedic help her understand how to support young swimmers while keeping safety a top priority. She has developed a unique method that helps all swimmers progress quickly while respecting their individual needs and pace. A mother of two with a love for kids, animals, and goofy earrings.

Our dedicated team of swim instructors at Ms. Abby's Swim LLC is committed to providing top-quality swim lessons tailored to each individual's needs. With years of experience and a passion for teaching, we strive to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all swimmers.
Ms. Melissa
Ms. Melissa is a high school science teacher and swim coach. She's enjoyed almost two decades of teaching younger swimmers in the water. She finds teaching young and older ones to swim extremely rewarding. She loves science, dogs and being a new mom to her sweet baby boy.
Ms. Sarah
Ms. Sarah is majoring in Special education and elementary education at Michigan State. She has 14 years of competitive swim experience. She's worked with all ages and abilities to help them learn basic swimming skills and competitive swimming techniques. When she's not busy making waves she loves to relax on the couch cuddling her 20-year-old cat.
Ms. Sydney
Ms. Sydney has been teaching a variety of styles of swimming lessons for over 10 years including five years with Ms. Abby's Swim. Ms. Sydney is an Elementary school teacher with loads of patience and a former competitive swimmer who loves teaching kids and adults to swim. In her off time she enjoys listening to Taylor Swift and spending time with her husband.
Ms. Alex
Ms. Alex attends Grand Valley State University majoring in Elementary Education. Ms. Alex has 15 years of competitive swimming experience, several years of lifeguarding and 3 years of swim instruction. She truly enjoys working with children and helping others gain confidence in the water. When Miss Alex isn't in the pool, you can find her winning championships as a phenomenal soccer player!
Ms. Maggie
Ms. Maggie is a competitive swimmer of 12 years and has been teaching swimming for three years now. She's the captain of her water polo team and looking forward to her freshman year of MSU. She loves being in the water and helping others enjoy it as much as she does.
Ms. Elise
Ms. Elise has swam competitively for almost 10 years. She has enjoyed teaching swimming for 4 years and loves building relationships with her swimmers to help them enjoy the sport as much as she does. She's looking forward to her freshman year of college at Loyola university and when she's not splashing, you'll find her on the golf course!
Ms. Sydney S.
Ms. Sydney and will be a senior at Michigan state majoring in communicative sciences and disorders and absolutely loves it! This will be my fifth year lifeguarding and instructing swim lessons. Outside of being in the pool, she loves spending time outdoors either going for walks or runs and prioritizes spending a lot of time with family and friends! (Serving Rochester, Clarkston, and Bloomfield)
